Volunteer of the Year 2024
Many Banwell Parishioners give their personal time and energy helping to undertake public engagement work or volunteering in the community. To recognise and celebrate volunteers within the Parish, in 2024 Banwell Parish Council awarded the Recognition of Service to the Community Award.
The Parish Council is proud to announce Jonathan McMillian as the recipient of this year’s Recognition of Service to the Community Award for his outstanding contributions to ensuring the safety of families using the zebra crossing in front of the school.
Come rain or shine, Jonathan stands vigilantly at the crossing, dedicated to ensuring the safe passage of young people as they journey to and from school each day. His commitment to this role extends far beyond the call of duty, often putting himself at the forefront of traffic to create a safer environment for all.
Jonathan's unwavering dedication has not gone unnoticed, as he was nominated by numerous parents who have witnessed firsthand the positive impact he has had on the school community. His presence brings reassurance to both parents and children alike, knowing that they can rely on him for their safety.
Congratulations, Jonathan McMillian, on this well-deserved recognition of your service to the community.
Thank you to everyone who nominated all those amazing volunteers that we are lucky enough to have around the Parish.
